Don "Pappy" Nutter, age 84 of Lancaster, OH died on Aug. 7th, 2025 at OSU. He was born to the late Presley and Lectie Nutter on March 22, 1941 in Clarksburg, WV. He was in the US NAVY where he was Seabee for 10 yrs. He retired as a managing director for Service Master for several hospitals, then worked at Lowes until 2 years ago. He was a member of the Lancaster Veteran Burial Detail, and the VVA chapter 1045. He enjoyed woodworking and reading and greatly loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth "Bammy" Nutter; children, Jeannie (Richard) Libby and Allen (Beth) Nutter; grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Colin Libby, Jacob Nutter, and Joshua Nutter; great grandchildren, Julia Johnson, Jamie Johnson, William Libby, and Callihan Libby; brother Marvin (Deborah) Nutter, and several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Orene Sandy, Lois Nutter, Rosalie Davis, and Retta Sharp.

Caring Cremation ™ has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home in Lancaster, Ohio where calling hours from 4PM-6PM on Wed. August 13th with the Lancaster Veteran Burial Detail having Veteran Honors will follow at 6PM. Donations in Don's name can be made to Honor Flight Columbus PO Box 20133 Columbus, OH 43220.
