Don Alan “Al” Westveer, age 83, resident of Lobelville, passed away on November 16, 2025, at Perry Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Al was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on December 5, 1941, and was the son of the late Donald Thomas and Jean Westveer. He graduated high school in Ohio and went to work for General Motors. He later moved to Florida and was very proud to have served as a firefighter in Sarasota. After moving to Tennessee, he began his career with Saturn in 1989 and retired from the company in 1998.
Al enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and football. Most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rebecca Westveer of Lobelville; stepdaughters, Shavonne (Narayan) Chaudhari of Columbia and Gina Yokley of Spring Hill; brothers, Marion Westveer of Palm Coast, Florida, Andrew Westveer of Palm Coast, Florida, and Russell Westveer of New Miami, FL; grandchildren, Mike Westveer of Aurora, Indiana, Brooke Yokley of Columbia, Britlynn Mosier of Lewisburg, Landon (Chasity) Mosier of Culleoka, Carleigh Yokley of Columbia, Kynslee Mosier of Columbia, Abbie (Josh) Keiser of Columbia, and Drew Yokley of Spring Hill; great-grandchildren, Charlie Parker, Julie Parker, Remi Allen, River Allen, Riggs Allen, Rhettyn Allen, Abigail Westveer, Nova Yokley, and one on the way, Logan Lee Fowler; and three nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Gary Westveer and Jeff Westveer.
