Dona Mae Terkelsen, 89 of Mountainville, Utah, passed away December 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born December 12, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Walter Christian & Laura Elizabeth Morrison Petersen.
Dona graduated from Weber High School and graduated from Weber State College in their new pilot program for a two year RN. Weber sent her charting to Washington DC to demonstrate how competent the program was. She was in the 2nd graduating class.
Dona was set up on a blind date with Wilford Junior Terkelsen “Terk” while attending Weber State, and was married June 22, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She started her Nursing career at Dee Hospital working in emergency, surgery, geriatrics and labor and delivery. She finished her career at Utah Valley Hospital in 1991.
Dona and Terk moved to Sanpete in 1990 to be closer to Terk’s work and family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings. Dona had a great love of Genealogy and enjoyed sharing it with others. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing.
Dona is survived by her children, Kent Lawrence Terkelsen, Wendy Donava Terkelsen Petersen, Clark Christian Terkelsen; sister Norma Lutilda Stone; sister-in-law, Diane Petersen, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Terk; son, Wilford “Paul” Terkelsen; daughter, Elizabeth Coleise Terkelsen; son-in-law Michael Jay Petersen; daughter-in-law, Debbie Lee Terkelsen; great-granddaughter Shyanne Shawnece Prince; siblings, Junior Petersen, Walter Junior Petersen, Marlene Selena (Charles Dee) Terkelsen, Mary Ann Petersen, Laurette Lone (Knud Eric Hintze “Jorgie”) Jorgensen, Celeste Opel Petersen, Boyd Oren Petersen; Brother-in-law Gayle "Tiny" Bodily Stone.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview 1st & 4th Ward Chapel (122 South State, Fairview). Viewings will be held Friday December 12, 2025 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W, Mt. Pleasant,) and Saturday from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment in the Spring City Cemetery.
