Donald Acton Obituary
Don married Dorothy (Dottie) Sullivan Acton on June 28, 1952. Don served in the Navy, and retired from Cummins Engine Company. Don was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Waymansville where he served on boards and enjoyed helping with the annual fish fry. Don and Dottie enjoyed fishing and took many fishing trips to Canada. Don enjoyed playing cards, visiting the casino and meeting for breakfast with friends at Bob Evans and Cortland Diner. Don especially liked spending time with family.
Don is survived by his sons, Randy (Linda) Acton and Steven (Susan) Acton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Danielle (Steve) Green, Adrienne Able, Aaron (Heather) Acton, Chad (Deanna) Acton and Kelli (Ricky) Drane, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Don is survived by his siblings, Irvin (Carolyn) Acton, Wendell (Gale) Acton, Donna Griffith, Alberta (Rick) Schafstall, and Herrell (Judy) Acton.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie, who died February 17, 2020; his parents; and siblings Charles Acton, Carl Acton, Buelah Tatlock, Elsie Spurgeon, Ronald Acton and Theodore Acton.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Voss & Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut St, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Waymansville. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Erik Sorenson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Waymansville.
Memorials may be written to St. Peter Lutheran Church Waymansville in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
