Donald Burl "Bampa" Batterbee

BATTERBEE, Donald Burl "BAMPA" – of Clio, age 82, died Monday, December 29, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2025 at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. John Montney officiating. Burial in West Vienna Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Birch Run Moose Lodge #2426 or the charity of choice.
Donald was born October 30, 1943 in Mt. Morris Township, Michigan to the late Stewart and June (Wood) Batterbee. He grew up in Mt. Morris and graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the class of 1962. On August 22, 1964 he married Virginia Harmon in Clio, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Donald worked at GM on the line with 39 years of service. Donald enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and hunting deer with his family. He was an avid Detroit Lions and Michigan State fan. Donald loved following his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren's sporting events. He liked raising, selling and buying chickens. Donald was always a jokester and loved pulling pranks on people.
Surviving are: Wife, Virginia Batterbee; Children, Brenda Batterbee, Daniel (Tammy) Batterbee, Matthew (Dammie) Batterbee, Jason (Becki) Batterbee, Aaron (Dr. Heather Hall) Batterbee; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Sister, Charlotte Mallow; Brother-in-law, Kenny Osborn; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Son, Duane Batterbee; Grandson, Travis Batterbee; Siblings, Ronald Batterbee, Shirley Osborn.
