Donald Irvin Baum, 76, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Kramer) Baum, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown on April 25, 1949, Donald was the son of the late Irvin M. and Alice M. (Fenstermaker) Baum. He faithfully and honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era. Following his service, he worked as a technician for Muller Martini Group (formerly GMA) in Allentown for about 15 years, retiring in 2005. Earlier in his career, he was employed at Lehigh Valley Dairy.

A devoted member of St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allentown, Donald valued his faith, family, and community. He and Carol enjoyed traveling together and visiting family across the country. Donald also found great joy in photography, woodworking, and playing golf. He was active with the Boy Scouts and proudly coached his daughter's softball team.

A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, Donald cheered enthusiastically for all the hometown teams as well as Penn State football.

As his multiple sclerosis progressed, Donald continued to find joy and purpose through his creativity-crafting latch hook art, making Christmas decorations, and playing checkers. Above all, he treasured time spent with his grandsons and took every opportunity to interact with them as much as he was able.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Brian C. Baum and his wife, Jackie of Macungie; daughter, Teri L. Stoffey and her husband, Scott of Breinigsville; sister, Carol I. Jones and her husband, Rick of Allentown; brother, Glenn D. Baum of Florida; sister in law, Tina Baum; and grandsons, Aaron S. Baum, Brayden T. Stoffey, and Evan J. Stoffey. He was predeceased by his brother, James A. Baum.

Service: A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. No public calling hours. The Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home, P.C., is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.heintzelmancares.com.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 30 S. 17th Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
