Bruce H. Baum, a beloved patriarch, cherished father, and dedicated friend, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on September 16, 1931, in Geneva, Illinois, Bruce lived a life marked by love, hard work, and deep family connections. He was the son of Emery D. Baum and Mary L. (nee Gould) Baum and was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Rosalie Rhoades, a sister in infancy, and his brother, Emery Baum.
On February 4, 1950, Bruce married the love of his life, Sally Ann Trierweiler, in Aurora, Illinois. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and support. Bruce was a devoted husband and father, and his legacy continues through his four daughters: Ivy Franzen, Mary Marks, Brusan (David) Fancsali, and Wileena (James) Berry. His family was his pride and joy, and he leaves behind a remarkable lineage that includes grandchildren Kristy Holland, Daniel (Jenny) Marks, Tammy (Jimmy) Harrison, Tim (Kyle Lambert) Marks, Holly Hepnier, Missy (Jason) Joch, and Lieqha (Bob) Chapman. Bruce was also blessed with 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored and cherished.
Bruce spent a significant portion of his life as a machinist for at Austin Western, where he was known for his skill and dedication. His main job was with Sears where he retired. He approached his work with the same devotion he applied to his family, ensuring that those around him were well taken care of.
A man of few words but profound wisdom, Bruce had a way of making people feel valued and loved. He was a steadfast support to his family and friends, embodying the principles of hard work, integrity, and kindness. His laughter could brighten the cloudiest of days, and his quiet strength was a source of comfort to those who knew him.
Bruce is also survived by his sister, Doralass Raymond, who has been a significant part of his life journey. His family and friends will remember Bruce for his gentle spirit, warm heart, and the invaluable lessons he imparted throughout his life.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM until a funeral service at 1:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME With CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. For information: 630/554-3888 or www.dunnfamilyfuneralhome.com
