Donald William Bissant Jr., AKA Duck, entered eternal rest on May 24, 2025; he was born on January 26,1961, to the late Donald William Bissant Sr. and Barbara Williams. Donald was raised in McClendonville "Da Ville" and was a graduate of Oliver Perry Walker Senior High School Class of 1981. He was a part of the basketball and football team at Oliver Perry Walker and had a lively spirit. Upon graduating high school, Donald worked on Peters Road at the shipyard as an asbestos specialist.
He enjoyed working on cars with, and for, his neighborhood friends.
As the years went on, Donald helped as an assistant football coach at Donsereaux Harrison playground. He leaves behind his ex-wife–Sharlen Bissant; sons–Donald William Bissant 3rd; Dallas Love and daughter–Ariane Bissant; godsons–Jeremy Hill Sr. and Lawrence Williams; brother–Justin "JB" Bissant (Hope); sister–Karen Upchurch (Marion); grandchildren–Rayonne, Donald 4th, Ziyeh, London, Imari, Ireland, Ariah, and Laylonnie; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents–Donald William Bissant Sr. and Barbara Williams; baby brother–Reginald "Hustle" Bissant; mother-in-law–Vivian Ellison; great-nephews–DeMaco and Calvin Junior; great-niece–Cali; and sister-in-law–Latonya Bissant. Family and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA 70114.
The Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Professional Arrangements are entrusted to Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA 70114.
