Thinking of you, Lisa, and missing you. You are such an amazing person, strong and kind, beautiful and caring, filled with quiet courage and light. Sending love to you at this time and always, and remembering your loss.

I had just left the Marines when I went to work at Amenia Sand and Gravel in 1988.
We became friends instantly and had fun pulling pranks on the others. He tried to present himself as hard-core but I saw through that facade. Especially after he married Lisa and they had DJ his eyes always softened and shown the caring Donny. I cherished our time together Semper Fi brother.

Lisa, I am so sorry not to have known you and Donny were up against it. I should have been there. I did not know him, but I know you well. I knew DG well. From his biography, Donald was a selfless and courageous man to whom we owe our thanks. But it’s more than that. Because of you and DG, I know just how warm, wonderful and special Donny must have been. I’m so sorry, Lisa. You have my heart.

I remember a long time ago DG and i were having a sleepover... i don´t remember what i was going through at the time but late at night I wanted to go home and was upset. He came out of his room sat on the stairs with me and talked me through it. I will always remember that

My first memory of Donald was issuing a death certificate to him and wife, Lisa., for their son, DJ. It still hurts to think of that awful time. I am so sorry Lisa to read of your husband's passing - a Marine, two purple hearts, two bronze stars - we owe so much to our Vets. Sending you sincere condolences, Mary M. Palmer, Retired Town Clerk of the Town of Canaan (Falls Village).
