Donald Bosetti Obituary

Beloit, WI - Donald E. Bosetti, 85, of Beloit, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at UW Health Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 17, 1940, in Fitz Henry, PA, the son of Dominic and Jesse (Davis) Bosetti. Don joined the Navy at the age of 17 after graduating from South Huntington Township High School. He proudly served on the first nuclear-missile armed submarine, the USS Growler and patrolled the seas off the coast of Russia during the Cold War. He met the love of his life, Pat (whom he fondly called Honey Poo) through a friend while attending schooling through the Navy at Fairbanks Morse in Beloit, WI. They married on June 23, 1962. His entire career was with Fairbanks Morse as a diesel engineer. He traveled a lot for his job but was always there for his family. Don was very proud of his Navy service and loved to attend the reunions to see his lifelong buddies from the sub. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler fan, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren, he loved woodworking, Disney World, Las Vegas, Bally's and taking care of his lawn. He was also long-term member of the Star Zenith Boat club, earning Admiral status and a supporter of Vets Roll after going on the trip in 2014. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patricia Bosetti; children, Teresa (Jeff) Pearson, Brett (Liz) Bosetti, Brant (Debby) Bosetti, Annette (Peter) Piranio: grandchildren, Lukas Hallmark, Kasey (Joanna) Hallmark, Nicole (Drew Easland) Bosetti, Nolan Bosetti, Justin (Paige Thiemer) Bosetti, Tyler Bosetti, Ally (Ryan Hughes) Bosetti, Preston Piranio, Peyton Piranio; great grandchildren, Leighton Easland, Emerson Easland, Maize Bosetti, Ella Hughes; sister, Marva (Clifford) Hepler; niece, Shelia (Donald) Lipyance; nephew, Shawn (Lisa) Hepler, many great- nephews and nieces; bonus family, Jason (Allison) Pearson, Josh (Erin) Pearson, Danielle (Ryan) Trowbridge, Katie (Max) Mauel and families. Don was predeceased by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Francis and Ann Field; nephew, Troy Hepler. As a family, we will continue singing: "Bosetti Tradition" loud and off key as often as possible. Per Don's wishes, there will be no formal services, but there will be a celebration of his amazing life in the future. Memorials may be sent to USS Growler at the Intrepid Museum, Pier 86, W 46th St, New York, NY. 10036 (support.intrepidmuseum.org/donate-now/) or Vets Roll c/o Mark Finnegan, 1777 Gardner Street, South Beloit, IL, 61080 (VetsRoll.org). Daley Murphy Wisch Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, assisted the family with these arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at ww.daleymurphywisch.com.
