Donald Boynar Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jardine Funeral Home, Inc. - Strongsville on Mar. 13, 2025.
Donald G. Boynar, age 84, was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Irene S. Boynar and James W. Boynar on October 12, 1940 along with his twin brother, Dennis. Donald and Carol eventually moved to Geneva on the Lake, Ohio. Donald and Denny played football at Baldwin Wallace College. Donald and Carol started at B-W in 1959 and eventually met and fell in love in 1963 at college. Donald and Carol had graduated and got married in Chatham, New Jersey. Carol began teaching kindergarten in Chatham Township and after 3 years, they moved to Garfield Heights in Ohio. Donald taught physical education and coached their football team at the junior high school. Don Jr. was born on October 10th in Garfield Heights, OH and they then moved to Parma, Ohio. Donald then taught and coached football at Twinsburg High School. Brad was born on April 28th in Parma, OH with Wendy being born on September 27th two years later. Finally, Donald and Carol made their new home in June 1973 in Strongsville, OH and he got a job as an Assistant Principle at Buckeye High School in Medina. They raised their family in Strongsville, Ohio where Carol taught kindergarten for 36 years and Donald taught at Buckeye High School and coached football. In the many talents, Donald wanted to pursue a business sales profession at State Chemical. He was recognized for the Presidential Achievement Award for one year and also was honored by writing a book for his boss. Donald eventually went back to school for his Master's in Education Administration. He was a beloved dad and devoted husband of 60 years. Donald hitch hiked all the way to New Jersey carrying a teddy bear where his profound and everlasting love for Carol began. Together they raised a family that became his main focus : his children, Don Boynar (Janine), Bradley J. Boynar, and Wendy C. Dickerson.
Donald's legacy extends his role as a dear brother to his twin, Den Boynar (Shirley), Jenny Kennedy (Michael) and Jim Boynar (Ellyn). His years of teaching and guidance were a beacon for his grandchildren, Cece, Leah, Bryce, and Brandon, whom he listened and inspired to encourage success. As an uncle, his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Ron (Michele), Bryan (Katy), Chris, Jake, Sarah, Elizabeth and Michael along with their children, Jessica, Justin, Brooke, Jake, Gabriella, Zoe, Caroline, Audrey, Grace and Joe, found him as an encourager and a guide. Professionally, Donald was a respected teacher and administrator inspiring lives of countless students and athletes with his wisdom and motivation. He was recognized not only for his educational contributions but also for his innate ability to lead and influence those around him.
Donald's interests were baseball and football, golfing and he loved to dance. Taking up golfing through the years he grew to love the sport. Birthdays were a special occasion for Donald and his twin, Den as they gathered their families to reminisce and share tales of their college years and growing up on Geneva on the Lake working for the mayor. Above all, Donald had a heart of gold. His selflessness was evident in the sacrifices he made to ensure the happiness and success of his family and friends. His actions spoke volumes of his commitments to his profession and coaching. He will be remembered as a force of motivation, inspiration of wisdom, and a hard worker.
