Donald Francis Brigham, age 76, of Grayling went home to be with his heavenly Father on August 6, 2024. Don was born on August 31, 1948 in Cass City, MI to the late Edwin A. Brigham and Ruth (Van) Desjardans.
Don married his "honey" Sylvia on February 22, 1969 and they moved their family to Grayling where Don started work at Fred Bear until they relocated. Don was mechanically inclined and was well regarded in small engine repair. He worked for 27 years at McClean's Ace Hardware where he was sought after for his talents and kindness. Don's true passion was spreading his love for Jesus, and he became an ordained minister in 1978 after dedicating his life to the Lord in 1974. You could count on Don to tell a "corny" joke and to draw people in with his gentle spirit. Don pastored Abundant Life Tabernacle for 12 years and went on to be an associate pastor and dedicated member of Resurrection Life Church in Grayling where he preached his final sermon on August 4, 2024. Don loved reading his Bible, preaching, fishing and spending time with his family and he left a legacy of love and kindness where you knew every situation could be tied to a story of how God provided a way. We know he is now walking with his Savior and telling God his jokes.
Left to cherish and honor his legacy is his devoted and precious wife of 55 years, Sylvia (Bebe) Brigham. His three children Michael David Brigham of Traverse City, Rochelle (Eric) Stowers of Kalkaska, Jason (Mara) Brigham of Grayling, siblings Larry (Judy) Brigham of Mt. Morris, Carole Kinney of Bad Axe, Frank (Diane) Brigham of Fife Lake, Daniel Brigham of Green Bay, grandchildren, Tiffany (Jesse) Nooney of Kalkaska, Alissa (Jake) Stowers of Kalkaska, Tyler (Stephanie) Brigham of Grayling, Shane Brigham of Traverse City, Egon (Rachel) Stowers of Kalkaska, Kaden Brigham of Grayling, Chase Brigham of Traverse City, Morgan (Shane) Brigham of Grayling, Madison (Patrick) Brigham of Traverse City, Ezekiel Stowers of Kalkaska, Isabel Stowers of Kalkaska along with 13 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Don is preceded in death by his brother’s-in-law Charlie Gomez, Ralph Kinney, Roy Rodriguez and James Miller, along with nephew’s Rickey Blumerich and Mario Cruz.
Celebration of Life will be held at Resurrection Life Church on August 17, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Don to Resurrection Life Center, 2640 M-72, Grayling, MI 49738.
