Donald Britton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farnelli Funeral Home - Williamstown on Nov. 7, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Donald L. Britton, age 66, of Williamstown, NJ, went up to the Spirit in the Sky on November 5, 2025.

Donald spent his childhood years hopping the train in Runnemede. As a teenager, he made his way to Williamstown, spending time with his Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Later, Donald laid down roots in Williamstown for his own family. He valued the small things. He was a loving father, friend, and neighbor. Donald was there for anyone in need. He was always the first to stop to help a stranger- because it was the right thing to do. His selflessness, creativity, passion for anything with a motor, and his familial tremor will be passed down from generation to generation.

For years, Don did body work at John's Auto Body in Audubon. Then he worked in paintless dent repair at Autolenders in Williamstown. Eventually he found himself working as a utility surveyor for Taylor Wiseman Taylor.

On the weekends, you could find him in the garage or in the stands at Atco dragway. While he was no longer running time trials in his front-end dragster, "Uncle Don's Nightmare", the smell of the track made him feel alive. Reminiscing of his race days turned him into a real-life Uncle Rico passionately betting us on how far he could throw a football.

He could also be found with his father-figure, George Harley, wandering around Albion Junkyard-where he frequently went to find his peace. He spent countless hours restoring cars, and building bikes with his grandkids.

He was truely a magician with his very shakey hands. Don was known for creating beautiful birdhouses out of ordinary things and for crafting the world's strongest pinatas. Pride beamed from his face as he watched round after round of children -and adults- try to break these concrete creations.

An avid Eagles fan who fell in love with an avid Dallas fan. The betting, banter, and ball-breaking kept things exciting.

Above all, he found the most joy spending time with the ones he loved. Donald was the youngest son of the late Gertrude Britton, Loving husband of Rosemarie "Ree" Britton (nee Mullin). Devoted father of Whitney Britton (Matt), Candace Brown (David), Jacob Britton (Boo), Stashy Frick, Koren Crispin, and Chad Frick (Megan). Loving "Poppy" and "Popcorn" of Johnny, Olivia, Christian, Jeffrey, Dilynn, Davie-girl, Ellie, Jessica, Samantha, Nick (Estefany), Lily, Ben, and great grandfather of Noah. Dear brother of Jerry Britton (Philomena). He is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, November 13th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, where a service will be held at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place on Friday, November 14th at 11:00 AM at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE.
