Donald Brunker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Aspen Mortuaries - Arvada on Sep. 25, 2024.
Don was a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, racing enthusiast, co-worker and friend. After a courageous battle with cancer, Don finished his journey leaving an incredible legacy.
He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, his sons Matt (Rachel), Chris (Brittany), his father Bill, his sisters Chante (Reggie), Amanda, Holly and Connie (Jim), his brothers Ken (Cely), John (Kelli) and Richard.
Born to Bill and Norma in 1962. He lived in Colorado all his life, living in Golden and Lakewood.
He and his wife Cheryl were married for 42 years. They have two of the most amazing sons, Mathew and Christopher.
Matt and Rachel with their four beautiful children, Hayley, Sage, Sidney and Mathew Jr. Chris and Brittany with their beautiful daughter Skylar. He loved his family to the utmost.
Don worked for Jeffco Schools as a Rehabilitation Engineer, creating and fabricating materials and furniture for students to be successful in their learning environment for Special Education. He served the entire district with pride and dedication for 33 years.
He raced Legend cars at Colorado National Speedway. He held a ministry license and also enjoyed singing and gardening.
He felt honored and humbled to receive the Jeffco "Our People: Our Strength" award in 2023 from the Jeffco School Board.
Don was a dear friend to many and loved helping and visiting with his neighbors, coworkers and friends. He adored his time building race cars, from the ground up with his sons. He was so incredibly proud of Matt and Chris for their integrity and love for their families and the amazing adults they have become. This meant the world to him, and it was the highlight of his life.
Seeing his grandchildren flourish into caring loving adults. The newest addition, Skylar and the way she can light up a room.
The special connection he and his father shared. Very dear to his heart, was the relationship with his brothers Ken and John and the in-depth and funny conversations they would share together. He was so happy for Chante & Reggie with their marriage and the birth of their son, Doyle. He was proud of Amanda and her teaching career and was happy she returned to the US to continue teaching in Texas. The dedication Connie & Jim have given to their family. Holly and Richard for their independent nature and resilience.
Proceeded in death by his mother Norma and his brother Trent.
In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to help with medical cost and
end of life cost. https://account.venmo.com/u/Cheryl-Brunker
