Donald D. "Don" Buchs, age 92, a lifelong resident of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Park View Care Center, in Edgerton, surrounded by his family. Don retired from Robinair after 30 years with the company as a purchasing agent. He had previously been a milk deliveryman for Benner Dairy and Farnham's. Don served as an Edgerton Village Councilman for many years and was recognized as a "Village Watchman." He enjoyed watching squirrels and birds, fishing and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians.
Donald D. Buchs was born on Sept. 26, 1933, in Edgerton, the son of Alonzo and Edna (Mercer) Buchs. He graduated from Edgerton High School in 1951. Don married Loretta A. Friedel on June 20, 1951, in Angola, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2007.
Don is survived by his children, Tammy (Kim) Buchs, of Edgerton, Alonzo (Mary) Buchs, of Melbern, Curtis (Lois) Buchs, of Montpelier and Judy Hendricks, of Montpelier; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loretta; son-in-law, Lewis Hendricks; and granddaughter, Chasity Carpenter.
Visitation for Donald Buchs will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at Krill Funeral Home, 114 E. Hull St., Edgerton, Ohio. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with Bob Day officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
Memorials in the name of Don Buchs are requested to the Williams County Humane Society.
