Donald Eugene Burns

Donald Eugene Burns, 73, of Columbus, passed away on July 10, 2024, at home surrounded by family. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on January 30, 1951, to the late Patricia Joann Swigert. He was married to the late Delilah (Karen) Burns and the late Christy Burns.

Those left to cherish his memory include his grandson, Charles Burns, Jr.; granddaughter, Alissa Burns; and son, Charles Burns.

Butch was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam Era. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing; his family hopes he is now getting the chance to enjoy more fishing than he did in the past four years. He was a very spiritual person, deeply believing in God, and he loved everyone. Butch took great care of his sons and his family. He loved his garden, tending to his plants and vegetables with meticulous care. He maintained his yard to the point where it was the best-looking yard in the neighborhood.

Butch’s family rests easy knowing that he is reunited with his loved ones.

A Memorial Service to honor Butch’s life will be held at 3pm, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Newcomer Funeral, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, 43231.
