Donald Eugene Camden

Monroe, NC: Donald Eugene Camden, 87, entered the gates of Heaven on August 21, 2025, just one week before his 88th birthday. He was born in Springfield, Ohio, to the late George and Lola Camden. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy, as well as his four brothers Warren, Fred, Bill, and John Camden and one sister Martha Camden.

Don retired after 37 years of dedicated service with Family Dollar Stores Corporate Office in Matthews, NC. By the time he retired, he held the position of New Store Construction Project Manager in the Real Estate Department. He was passionate about his work at Family Dollar, especially the years spent traveling and overseeing the construction of new stores. Following his retirement, Don found fulfillment in transporting vehicles for AAA and car dealerships in the Charlotte area. At the age of 17, he also proudly served his country by enlisting in the Air Force.

When he wasn't working, Don found joy in spending time with family and friends, and the occasional afternoon nap that brought him peace. He loved traveling with family, especially to the beach, Florida, and Ohio. Don had a gift for connection; he never met a stranger and was known for his kindness and generosity. He was always ready to lend a helping hand when he was able to do so.

Don is survived by his 4 children, Keith Camden (Rachel) of Yuma, AZ; Pam Dulin (Gary) of Mint Hill, NC; Don Camden Jr. (Joanie) of Lithia Springs, GA; and Alan Camden (Jennifer) of Monroe, NC; 10 grandchildren, Brian Camden, Chad Camden, Timothy Camden (Becky), Gary Dulin Jr., Jarret Dulin (Taylor), Stacy Dulin Odom (Josh), Nichole Camden Taylor (Matt), Amanda Camden Brown (Jason), Corrie Camden, and Hannah Camden; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 1-2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 4431 Old Monroe Rd., Indian Trail, NC, 28079. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
