The Reverend Donald Marion Campbell, 92, a resident of the Dawes Community of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on May 2, 2025. Born on January 2, 1933, he was the son of James Robert and Annie Youngblood Campbell, the brother of Jim and Richard Campbell and Laura Birdsong who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his two sons, Steve (Angela) Campbell and Andrew Campbell. His grandchildren are Meghan (Michael) Vanosdol and Rachel (Joseph) Beatty. He has two great-grandsons, Mason and Blake Vanosdol. He is also survived by one sister, Priscilla Coid, and many nieces and nephews.
He was ordained in 1973 and was a long-time pastor for over 50 years. He was a faithful servant of our Lord and preached until the age of 85. He served as pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, First Baptist Dawes and First Baptist Saraland. He loved to fish and watch college football but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Tillmans Corner on Saturday, May 10th from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Annie Armstrong Missions Fund at First Baptist Church Tillman's Corner.
