Donald Church Obituary
Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 after a long illness. He was born in Gowanda, NY on December 29, 1947, a son of the late Donald J. and Helen (Vergith) Church.
A resident of Ashford Hollow before moving to Pendleton where he met his future wife of 59 years Violet A. (Schonebeck) Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Gordon Church, Heather Kitchen and Cassandra (Adam) DePriest, three grandchildren Nathan (Jessica) and Jack Alcorn and Lucius DePriest, a great granddaughter Violet Alcorn, and sister Helen Webb. Also sister Donna Hatcher and two brothers Christopher (Alise) and Douglas Church and several nieces and nephews.
He was the plant manager with Braun Horticulture in Niagara Falls, for over 25 years before retiring.
Mr. Church enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the Casino and playing cards.
He will be remembered for his yearly Xmas window murals and uniquely creative birthday cakes which delighted his children.
His family will be present on Saturday, November 8 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, followed by celebration of life services at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Ernest Green officiating.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
