Don was born in Junction City on September 25, 1942, the son of William and Ruth Quinn Orr. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1960 and earned an associate degree from Community College of the Air Force for Applied Mechanics. Don joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and served for 27 years, travelling to the Far East, Middle East, and many European countries as a Crew Chief for many types of aircraft. He met Dorothy Winslade in Oxford, England and they were married on October 22, 1971; they celebrated 53 years together. They raised three boys along the way, Wayne, Paul and Joe. Don retired from the Air Force in 1987. Following retirement, He worked at Electro Wire as a supervisor for ten years in Junction City and finished his working career driving a school bus for Junction City Transportation. Don enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Don is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Wayne (Sally), Paul (Rebecca) and Joe; grandchildren, Cheyanne, Cody, Bennett, Katelyn, Evan and Stevie; and siblings, Steven, Robert and Pamela Orr. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Bill and Jim Orr.
Per Don's wishes he was cremated, and no services are planned.
