Marvin Lamb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.
Marvin Ray Lamb, 76 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family March 8, 2026, at his residence at Lexington Park Assisted Living in Topeka. Marvin was born on January 27, 1950, in Pratt, Kansas to parents, Raymond and Della Smith Lamb.

The Lamb family moved to Great Bend, Kansas in 1957. Marvin graduated from Great Bend High School in 1968. He started working for Doonan Truck & Equipment while he was still a high school student. On May 9th, 1970, he married Dorothy Link of Chase, Kansas at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chase. Marvin helped his father-in-law, Francis Malone, on the family farm south of Chase, harvesting wheat and maintaining equipment. The Lambs welcomed their first child, Jason Mark Lamb followed by daughter Amy Jo Lamb Wagner.

Marvin worked as a mechanic and later a shop foreman at Doonan's for over 20 years. The Lambs made the decision to leave Great Bend and move to Topeka in 1994, where he and Dorothy were hired by Martin Tractor Company. Fifteen years later, he was hired by German agricultural company Claas, where he served as a trainer and Ag Specialist. In this role, Marvin traveled the United States and to Claas corporate headquarters in Harsewinkel, Germany. He was sent around the world to conduct product training. He concluded his career as a rural bus driver for Auburn-Washburn USD 437 until the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease forced him to retire.

Marvin could fix literally anything; from diesel trucks and combine harvesters to hot rods, his children's vehicles, and small engines. He finished the basement of the family's new home on 28th Street in Great Bend only to have to demo and rebuild it after the "Flood of 1981". Marvin loved mowing lawns, and working in his yard, building projects, grilling, and spending time with his family. He was a hard worker and a kind, sensitive, unselfish, family man.

Marvin leaves behind his wife, Dorothy; son Jason (Amy) Lamb of Wichita; and daughter Amy (Jim) Wagner of Topeka. Additionally, three grandchildren; Katy (Austin) Gartner of Prairie Village, KS, Keely (Caleb) Wright of Lawrence, KS, and Jayce Lamb of Wichita; a brother, Steven Lamb of Great Bend; three sisters, Leona Newcomb of Strong City, KS, Lola Lamb (Jerry Bombas) of Rose Hill, KS, Marcia (Rusty) Harrell of Oklahoma City, OK; along with many nieces and nephews.

He is reunited with his parents, in-laws, Francis and Katherine Malone, and four brothers, Harold Lamb, Richard Lamb, Ronald Lamb, and Stanley Lamb.

Dorothy, Jason, and Amy extend their deepest thanks to Marvin's dedicated caregivers at Lexington Park Assisted Living in Topeka.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 10, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. Marvin's funeral will be on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. both at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations, which will be distributed to the caregivers who loved and cared for our dad and husband during his final, most difficult two years. Checks may be made out to Marvin's daughter, Amy Wagner, and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home.
