Donald E. DaPrato, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Monday, June 19, 2023.
Donald was born Saturday, February 1, 1936, to the late Albert P. and Myrl (Snyder) DaPrato in Indianapolis, Indiana. He grew up in Indianapolis and was an altar boy at St. Anthony Grade school. He attended and graduated from Cathedral High School. Donald was enlisted into the U.S Navy and was honorably discharged. He worked for National Care Rental for 10 years and Ford Motor Company for 30 years before retiring.
Donald was an avid handyman and carpenter. He could fix anything. He built and raced his own dragster, being the first driver on Raceway Park to go over 100 miles per hour. He was also an Indy Car fan. Donald was an exercise enthusiast, he loved riding the exercise bike and lifting weights all the way until his passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Myrl DaPrato and his son, Donald Anthony DaPrato.
Donald is survived by his wife of 64 years, June Etta DaPrato; daughter, Teresina DaPrato; son, Nicholas DaPrato; grandsons, Michael Toscano (Brooke), Dominic Toscano (Shannon), Anthony Toscano (Michelle); and great grandchildren, Isabelle Toscano, Emilia Toscano, Norah Toscano, Bodhi Toscano, and Remi Toscano.
Visitation is Friday, June 23, 2023, 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel. Celebration of Donald's life will begin at 1:00 pm.
