Donald Leslie Davis Sr.

Cumberland, MD – Donald Leslie Davis, Sr., 89, of Cumberland, MD, left us surrounded by family and friends, Monday August 29, 2022, at his home.
Born August 9, 1933, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Davis was the son of the late Donald Roy Davis and Evelyn Virginia (Ayersman) Davis. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Roy Davis. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Donald graduated from LaSalle High School in 1952. He was a U.S. Army Veteran in Korea. Donald worked for the Cumberland City Police, A.B.L. Security Guard, Allegany Sheriff Department, Relief Bailiff at Allegany County District Court, and he retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company.
Donald was a member of the American Legion Post 13, the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and a Life Member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club.
Donald is survived by his wife of 38 years, Norma Jean Hillegas Davis; his three children: son, Donald L. Davis, Jr., Hagerstown, MD, daughter, Sue Ann Stine and husband, Robert, Clear Spring, MD, daughter, Margaret Virginia Davis, Hagerstown, MD, and daughter-in-law, Rose Davis; four grandsons; Donald Richard Davis and friend, Leah, Blake A. Davis and wife, Amanda, Joey Stine and wife, Carly, and Sam Stine and wife Trish; four great-granddaughters; Amya Rose Davis, Roen Davis, Hudsen Davis, and Elaine Faith Stine; two great-grandsons: Nash Davis and Jase Stine; three step-children: Rodney Scott, Tom Scott, Jr., Cumberland, MD, Michael Scott and wife, Julie, Boulder, CO,; three step-Grandchildren: Emily Boersma and husband, Luke, Grand Lake, CO, Catherine Slack and husband, Andrew, Georgetown, TX, and Charlotte Scott, Boulder, CO; two great-step-sons: Henry Michael Slack and Peter Reed Boersma; three brothers-in-law: Dalton Hillegas and friend, Barbara, Dale Hillegas and friend, Twyla, and James Hillegas and friend, Sue.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, September 2, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 P.M.
Interment will be in Maryland Veteran's Cemetery.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery.
