Donald L. Davis, age 85, of Amanda passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1939, in Lancaster, to Lloyd and Helen (Smith) Davis. Donald had many loves, including his wife, Joyce, of 68 years; farming; his community; Dale Hollow Lake and six-bid Euchre, to name a few - but nothing brought him more joy and pride than his family. Donald was a friend to many and a stranger to none; he was often found showing off pictures of his 11 grandkids and 30 great grandkids. If you met Donald, he was guaranteed to leave an impression. In 1957, he graduated from Amanda High School, where he met the love of his life and many of his lifelong friends. He was the third generation to run the Davis Family Farm, along with his brother and sons.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Miller) Davis; children, Jed (Pam) Davis, Craig (Penny) Davis, Kevin (Sharon) Davis and Kristi (Ronnie) Blankenship; grandchildren, Jamie (Allison) Davis, Phil (Katy) Davis, Tony (Lori) Davis, Brent (Ashley) Davis, Amie (Brandon) Kern, Angela Davis, Casey (Kevin) Carpenter, Sam (Erin) Davis, Cody Frank, Colten Blankenship and Autumn Blankenship; 30 great grandchildren; brother, Fred (Bonnie) Davis; and Aunt Margaret Frost (104). He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St, Amanda. The funeral will be held Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his honor may be made to The Pickering House, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
