Donald DeLash Obituary
Donald served the Lord as a Catholic Priest for 12 years of his life. A US Navy veteran, he served honorably as a Chaplain during the Vietnam War. He later met his wife and was married on December 14, 1973. Donald was employed as a US Probation Officer for 20 years and as a Background Investigator for the FBI for 19 years.
He is survived by four nephews, David Karch of Hazleton, PA, 0James DeLash (Sharon) of Warrington, PA, Donald DeLash (Evelyn) of Doylestown, PA and Tom DeLash (Dolly) of Woodsboro, MD; one niece, Carol Darr of Covington, LA; and his wife's daughter, Hitomi Herrmans of Seattle, WA. Aside from his wife and parents, Donald was preceded in death by three siblings, Florence Karch, Mary Davison, and Xavier DeLash.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Fr. Allan Wolfe will celebrate. Interment with military honors will be held in Arlington Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. We were saddened to discover that he had passed. We had the privilege of working with Don at the US Probation Office until his retirement in 1992. After his retirement, we kept in touch and visited him many times, even when he moved to West Virginia. He was a wonderful man and friend and will be missed.
