Donald Ulysses DeNure, age 85, passed away on January 9, 2022 in Quakertown, PA. Don was born on May 30, 1937 in Haledon, NJ. A lover of fishing and hunting and a dedicated volunteer firefighter with the North Haledon Fire Company #1, he will be dearly missed.
Donald spent most of his working life at Victory Iron Works in Wyckoff, NJ. He later retired to sunny Florida, residing in Nokomis. He married Hester DeNure and lived in Prospect Park, NJ. They raised three children together who survive him: Beth, wife of Chuck Patterson of New Hampshire, Donna, wife of Warren Olsen of Pennsburg, PA, and Donald DeNure of North Wales, PA. He leaves behind two grandchildren: Mason DeNure of North Wales, PA and Nicole Olsen, of Pennsburg, PA. Donald was an expert builder, and Nicole shares many memories of building things with Grandpa including a set of cherished dog jumps with her initials built in.
Donald grew up in a home full of life in North Haledon, NJ as the 7th child of Milton (d. 1999) & Evelyn DeNure (d. 1994). He was the life of the party for his older siblings who have predeceased him: Penelope, wife of Richard Thresher of Aberdeen, MD, Billy Denure, and his wife, Betty, of Charleston, SC, Bobby DeNure, of Oregon, Phyllis, wife of Charlie Visser Johnson, of Cecil, MD, Philipp DeNure, and his wife, Gladys, of Pomptom Lakes, NJ, and Leonard DeNure, and his wife Gladys of Haledon, NJ. He is survived by one older brother Wilfred "Woody" DeNure, and his wife, Jan of Wykckoff, NJ and one younger sister, Barbara Skorupa, of Elkton, MD. He was well loved by over 40 nieces and nephews.
