Donald “Don” Richard Bowman, 82, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on October 9, 2025. Don was born and raised in Chilhowie, VA. Immediately following his high school graduation he served in the Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War. He returned home and then moved to Kingsport where he worked for and retired from Eastman Chemical Company. He and his wife Priscilla raised their two daughters. Don was a loving and caring grandfather to his three grandchildren and even went by “Dad” to Logan, whom he raised. He loved the mountains, turkey and deer hunting, and fishing. Don had a strong faith in God and knew he was going home to be with Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Ruth Bowman; wife, Priscilla Bowman; brother, Roger Bowman; sister-in-law, Emma Lou Bowman; sister-in-law, Daisy Barnett; brother-in-law, Mike McElraft; and sister-in-law, Dreama Barrett.
Don is survived by his daughters, Angela Miles and Trenna Bowman; special grandson who was like a son; Logan Driscoll; granddaughter, Emily Fig and her fiancé Conner Meade; and grandson, Corban Driscoll; brother-in-law, Mike Barrett; sister-in-law, Bonnie McElraft; special niece, Becky Meade and her husband Steve and their family; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Dermatology Associates and Lewie Meade, as well as the many friends and acquaintances that Don knew throughout his life.
