Donald Lee Petersen
November 9, 1973 – September 17, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald “Donny” Lee Petersen, age 51, of Symco, WI, who left this world on September 17, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Donny was born on November 9, 1973, in Waupaca, WI, to Bonnie (Cunningham) and Ralph Petersen. He is survived by his children, Brandi Petersen and Brandon Petersen; his sister, Sara Petersen; and his brother, Ralph Petersen Jr. He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Ralph, and his uncles Jim, Dennis, and Dale Hedtke.
Donny will be remembered most for his sense of humor, protective nature, and the love he carried for his family and friends. He found joy in hunting, working with guns, survival prepping, and sharing good times over drinks with those he loved. Over the years, he built silos, worked on firetrucks at Pierce and Marion Body Works, and took on many construction jobs—always a hard worker, always dedicated.
Above all, Donny cherished his family, his friends, and his faith in God. His memory will live on in the laughter he inspired and the love he gave.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the DuPont Town Hall, with food and drinks served until 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to come share stories, memories, and “one more round” in Donny’s honor.
The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
