Donald R. Edgell

Donald Robert "Donnie" Edgell, 75, of Lebanon, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, while under the care of the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Leo Edgell, Sr., and the late Emma M. (Riexinger) Edgell.
Donnie grew up in Lancaster City's 7th Ward and attended J.P. McCaskey High School. For most of his life he worked in manufacturing, most recently at Bollman Hat Company. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1977.
In his spare time, Donnie liked to go for walks and he lifted weights for exercise. Even though it was bad for his health, he enjoyed smoking a cigarette. To those that knew him, Donnie was a nice guy with a pleasant demeanor, never complained, and he loved his family. Even in his last days he did not want to be a burden or inconvenience anyone.
He is survived by a daughter, Veronica (David) Becker, of AZ, a son, Danny Blunk, of AZ, a sister, Arlene Bogoslowski, of TX, brothers, Leo (Lisa) Edgell, of Manheim, and Michael Edgell, of IN. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe, David, and Frank Edgell.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, 435 Manor Avenue, Millersville, PA 17551, with Pastor Michael Sigman officiating.
