Donald Fitzner Obituary

Donald Ray Fitzner, age 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, beloved husband of Mary Louise Fitzner, father and Papaw, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his parents, FW and Marie Fitzner and siblings, Roger and Kenny Fitzner.
Mr. Fitzner was a graduate of Shawnee High School, studied at U of L and was a former member of Elk Lodge #8. He was a specialist first class in the 98th MRU Machines and Records unit in Fort Mead Maryland. Donald was retired from Ford Motor Company as a payroll analyst after 31 years of service.
Don loved all sports and was a die hard U of L fan. He had a passion for horse racing, was an avid bowler for over 60 years and loved playing cards, especially poker.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Donna Dimmitt (Don), Bill Fitzner (Tina); grandchildren, Jennifer Fitzner, Chad Dimmitt (Sunny), Nick Ramsey (Lenna), Carrie Morgan (Jimmy), Lauren Dimmitt (Shance), Christina Schwindel (Jake), Michael Fitzner (Nichole); great-grandchildren, Hannah, Chase, Aiden, Hunter, Liliana, Mason, Taylor, Austin, Luke, Conner, Margot, Eden, Willow, Holly and Gavin; and sisters, Sandy Maguire(Mike) and Linda Bowman(Terry).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, 12:00 pm, at Evergreen Funeral Home with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
