Donald Flint Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial Cremations and Burials - Clinton Township on Sep. 5, 2024.
Donald "Don" Keith Flint, of Sterling Heights, passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2024, at the age of 91 in Warren, Michigan. Born on November 8, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Don's life was a testament to his faith-filled spirit, his adventurous heart, and his thoughtful nature.
Don was a beloved husband to his late wife, Nancy Ellen Wuicich-Teats, with whom he shared a life full of love and dedication until her passing. Together, they raised a beautiful family, and Don's legacy continues through his four children, Crystal (John) Witt of Clinton Township, Keith (Phyllis) of Detroit, Jonathan (Sandra) of Hazel Park, and Clell (Deborah) of Tecumseh. He was a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, who will miss his warm presence and the gentle wisdom he imparted.
Before his passing, Don was preceded in death by his seven brothers and two sisters, with whom he shared a childhood filled with camaraderie and life lessons that shaped the man he would become.
Don's academic journey culminated in earning a Master's Degree, which paved the way for his impactful career. He devoted his professional life to serving others as a minister and social worker. His active ministry at the First Church of the Brethren in Flint was not just a job but a calling. He touched countless lives through his compassionate service and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his community.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Don was an individual of diverse interests and hobbies. An avid sailor, he found solace and joy on the water, navigating with the same steady hand with which he guided his congregation. His love for the outdoors was matched by his passion for sharing God thru song, a talent he shared with many over the years, bringing joy and upliftment through his voice. Don also found pleasure in reading, a hobby that allowed him to explore worlds beyond his own and continue his lifelong love of learning.
Even in his later years, Don embraced life with vigor, often seen riding his three-wheel tricycle around town, greeting friends and neighbors with a smile that was as much a part of him as his generous spirit.
Don's life was a journey of faith, adventure, and thoughtfulness. He was a beacon of light for his family, his church, and his community, exemplifying what it means to live a life of service and love.
As we bid farewell to Donald Keith Flint, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire. He has set sail on his final voyage, leaving behind a trail of memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Don's presence will be deeply missed, but the impact of his life's work and the love he shared will endure forever.
