Donald A. Gabianelli

Donald Gabianelli, age 90, of Naugatuck, entered into rest on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Silver Springs Care Center in Meriden. He is the beloved husband of 60 years of Philomena "Phyllis" (DellaRocco) Gabianelli. Donald was born in Waterbury on April 21, 1933, son of the late Evo and Louise (Rossi) Gabianelli.
He proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. Donald worked as a Chemical Engineering Associate for Uniroyal in Naugatuck for 55 years. He also spent 40 years as a Certified CT School Bus Instructor and Driver. He was an avid football fan and drove the bus for all of the valley sports teams. Donald enjoyed gardening, trips to the casino, and Sunday car rides. He was an avid fisherman, a founding member of the Valley Beagle Club Beacon Falls, and a member of the American Legion Post #174 in Oxford.
He is the beloved father of Glenn Gabianelli and is also survived by his sister Marlene Harmon in Arizona and his favorite furry friends, Tigh and Bowe.
Friends are invited to attend Donald's graveside funeral service on Friday February 2, 2024 at 11 AM in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby is entrusted with the arrangements.
