Donald Genschow

It is a with a heavy heart to announce the death of Donald Raymond Genschow, loving father and veteran, on October 26, 2024. Donald is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Joensen and Danielle Kasparyan, along with their husbands, Marni Joensen and Sevan Kasparyan, four grandchildren, Eirikur & Brandur Joensen, Natalie & Arabella Kasparyan, two cousins James Shanley and William (Will) Miller. Donald was born on December 15, 1951, and raised in northern New Jersey by his parents Gustave Genschow, father, mailman and volunteer firefighter in Ridgefield, NJ, and Barbara Nelson, mother, homemaker. As time went on, he met the love of his life Paula Cacciatore. They continued to reside and raise their family in Ridgefield, NJ, where Donald was known to spend most of his time staying connected with his local friends and family. Anyone that knew Donald, would tell you about his proud served time in the Air Force and the South Vietnam War. He would also mention about his coordinated efforts with the CIA, FBI, and Secret Service frequently. He wore his patriotism and love of country with pride and distinction. His other accomplishments were his multiple Degrees achieved at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Acting, 3rd Degree Black belt, and taking care of his mother. He mentioned to those that knew him his dream publishing a memoir but became ill. Unfortunately, his battle with Alzheimer's and dementia came to a sad ending as he joined his parents and his two brothers, Dennis Genschow and Robert Genschow in the afterlife.
There will be a public viewing on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 at Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield, NJ at 10AM to 1pm and he will be laid to rest at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ, afterwards on the same day. All are welcome to join the family at the wake and burial.
