Donald Macgill Gundermann was born in Texas City, Texas on July 26th, 1931. He passed away on Monday, April 3rd, 2023 at the age of 91 years in League City, surrounded by his family.
Don was a lifelong resident of Texas City and member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Texas City, TX. He was married to his wife Janey Annette Woodruff on December 4th, 1960. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, and after service worked for Standard Well and AMOCO as a pipefitter, machinist, and welder. He will always be remembered as a family man, affectionately called "Paa" by his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Janey, parents Walter and Catherine, brother Walter, sons Daniel and Ronnie, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren Henry, Sammy, and Kendall.
Don is survived by his sister Carla Carlin; daughter Catherine Gundermann and husband Roy; daughter Janey Gundermann Fattig; daughter Patricia Hernandez; and daughter-in-law Tracy Gundermann. He is also survived by his grandchildren Donald Gundermann and wife Kelly; Kristen Gundermann and husband Chase; Audrey Davis; Candice Davis and husband James; Misty Medrano and husband Aaron; Zachary Fattig and wife Madison; Nicole Hernandez and husband Nicholas; and Samuel Hernandez. He also survived by many great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Aaron Medrano, Donald Gundermann, Kameron Caufield standing in for Samuel Hernandez, Nicholas Townsend, Chase Cronkwright, and Zachary Fattig. Ushers are Aaron Medrano Jr and Levi Medrano.
Funeral services will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church at 11AM on Monday, April 10th with burial service at Galveston Memorial Park following the funeral.
