Donald Lee Harrison

Donald Lee Harrison, 82, of Kanab, Utah, passed away on February 17, 2026. He was born on January 27, 1944, in Louisville Kentucky to William Harrison Sr. and Thelma (Briggs) Harrison, who preceded him in death.

Donald was a gifted musician and entertainer whose talent and passion for music shaped much of his life. A skilled guitarist, pianist, and vocalist, he rose to prominence as the lead of the Don Harrison Band, which was signed by Atlantic Records. The band released three records and achieved national recognition, with their music peaking at #47 on the Billboard Hot 100. His love of performing never faded, and he remained a lifelong entertainer who brought joy to many through song and story.

Beyond the stage, Don was known for his warm heart and easygoing nature. He was funny, loving, and affectionate - a man who was well liked by all who knew him. He loved to dance and sing, filling rooms not just with music, but with laughter and connection. He cherished his community, valued his friendships deeply, and had a gift for telling unforgettable stories.

Don was a man of faith and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith was an important foundation in his life. On February 20, 2023 he and his beloved wife, Margie, were sealed for time and all eternity, a sacred covenant that reflected their deep love and devotion to one another. Their marriage was one of companionship, faith, and enduring commitment. Margie preceded him in death, and we take comfort in the belief that their eternal bond continues.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harrison Sr. and Thelma (Briggs) Harrison; his first and third wives, Linda and Margie; his stepdaughter, Carrie Thomas; and his siblings, Darlene (Harrison) Howard, William Harrison Jr., and Robert Harrison.

He is survived by his former wife, Rebecca; his children, Amber Harrison, Donald Lee Harrison Jr., Garnet (Harrison) Mendoza, Jesse Harrison, and Harlee Harrison; his stepchildren, Michelle Johnson, Michael Kitchen, and James Ferguson; his siblings, Charles Harrison, Rosie (Harrison) Taylor, and Rodger Harrison; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He has numerous nieces and nephews. All will carry forward his love, spirit, and musical legacy.

Funeral services will be held at Mosdell Mortuary in Kanab, Utah, on February 28, 2026, at 12:00 noon MST.

Don's music, laughter, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Though the final curtain has fallen, the music plays on.
