Donald (Donny) Clark Hayes 67 of Windsor, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on August 13, 2025.

Donny dedicated many years to the roofing industry, starting his career working with his dad then on to joining the United Union of Roofers Local 203 working at WeatherMaster Roofing as a journeyman for over 20 years until he retired. After retirement he continued in the construction trade working with his sons.

An avid outdoorsman, Donny found peace in hunting, walking in the woods and doing almost anything outside. He spent many years boating, jet skiing and camping with his family. He used his outdoor creativity to amaze people every day. Developing things the average person might think 'dangerous' but friends and family thought 'amazing'. From massive slip n slides made from roofing rubber and old tires that even the adults enjoyed, to sleigh ridings down the road, the biggest bonfires you have ever seen, human sling shots, building motorized riding contraptions the kids all remember in their adult life and more. He made sure his boys had the best birthday parties ever, and the best childhood ever. And it didn't stop there as he was also the hero for family and friends any time a hero was needed. Donny was a man who would be there for any family member or friend at anytime. Anyone who knew him certainly has a story to tell. As his boys would say 'The man, the myth, the legend….THE DON'

Donny was pre-deceased by his father Harry Patrick Hayes, mother Joy A. Hayes, brothers Michael Hayes and Thomas Hayes, in-laws Ron Perkins and Sharon Perkins.

He is survived by his long-time partner Barbara Hayos, his children Jason Hayes and Kyle (Danielle) Hayes, daughter-in-law Cari, former spouse and mother of his children Diana, grandchildren Carmin (Phillip), Alexis (Mike), Jordis (Jaron), Thomas, and Timothy, mother Eleanor, siblings George (Shelene), Richard (Gail), Patrick (Rose), Shawn (Kathy), Anthony, Miracle (Mark) Phillips, Kevin (Renee), Keith (Judy), Kirk, sister-in-laws Ellen, Rebecca, Doreen, brother-in-law Danny, many nieces and nephews who were all very loved by him. A special thank you to Rebecca for helping to honor his request to spend his final days at home.

A celebration of life will be held Memorial weekend 2026 at Paughs Point, Ouaquaga, NY. Exact details will be communicated early 2026.
