Donald Terry Hazelrig, age 65, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on May 27, 2024. He was born on June 27, 1958.
Donald, known to his loved ones as Terry, was a talented artist and musician. His love for drawing, painting, and playing music, especially by his favorite artist Elton John, was evident in everything he did. Terry's passion for learning extended to subjects like math, physics, space, science, and medicine. He had a larger-than-life personality and a song for every occasion.
Terry served in the US Navy and pursued a career as a musician. His dedication to his family was unmatched. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Melanie Hazelrig; daughter, Christina Wills (Joel); son, Michael Wilson (Keri); grandchildren, Rogue Tala, Micah Carlton (Alicia), Fletcher Wilson, Noah Carlton (Breann), Aegwyn Taylor, Graeme Taylor; great-granddaughter, Kaiya Carlton; sister, Sharon Stockman (Larry); niece Cristine Long; nephew, Steven Wiggill (Lisa); great nephew, Luke Wiggill; son-in-law, Steve Carlton (Westa); and many cousins, family members, and close friends around the world. He was preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Teague (Roger), father, Donald Hazelrig, and uncle, Donald Vice.
A memorial service will be held at Farley Church of Christ, 12113 South Memorial Parkway, Huntsville, AL 35803, on June 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM, and will be performed by Steve Carlton. The service will be live streamed on Facebook by invitation only. A fellowship will follow the service to share favorite stories and memories.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love for family, music, and learning will always be cherished.
