Donald was born on September 8, 1939, in Barnett, Missouri, to Orville and Hattie (Walls) Hibdon. On January 9, 1960, he married the love of his life, Barbara (Royal) Hibdon, at Budd Park Christian Church, and together they built a beautiful life grounded in love and family.

Donald dedicated 26 years to the Kansas City Police Department, where he served as Sergeant and member of the SWAT unit. He later served with the Buckner Police Department for 12 years, retiring as Chief of Police. He let all know that "it's not a job; it's something I love to do". His leadership, integrity, and unwavering sense of duty left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him and the communities he protected.

Beyond his career, Donald's joy was found in the simple pleasures of life. A devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, he also loved golfing, fishing for crappie and catfish, and spending time at his family property in the country. He was a talented carpenter who poured his heart into building things for those he loved. Above all, Donald cherished his family; his grandchildren were his pride and joy, and his generosity and willingness to help others touched many lives.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Alfred, A.C. (Tiny), Chester, LeRoy, Ronald, J.C.; sisters: Dorothy Marie Haynes, and Dorene Bailey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; daughter, Tresa (Eric) Breyfogle; son, Timothy (Terry) Hibdon; grandchildren: Cheyenne (James) Stockton, Matthew (Ariel) Breyfogle, Kristy (Alex) Hernandez; great-great grandchildren: Ian Kling, Kylie Stockton, Korban Dains, Nila Hernandez, Ensley Stockton, and Bennett Stockton.
