Donald "Don" L. Jacobson

Don was born to life on December 14, 1922, to Edwin and Alma (née Hemstad) Jacobson. He was born to eternal life on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the remarkable age of 103.

Don was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte (née Coolahan), with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. He was the loving father of Robert "Bob" (Barbara) Jacobson, Doris (Lon) Schneider, Tom (Linda) Jacobson, Jeannie (Gary) Steller, Steve (Sandi) Jacobson, Ed (Tammy) Jacobson, Carol (Bashir) Mehar, Colleen (Wayne) Yaggie, and Maripat (Chad) Ermann. He was a cherished grandfather to Tammy, Mike, Jim, Beth, Angie, Joe, Mark, Tony, Wendy, Karen, Kevin, Renee, Darren, Janelle, Brenna, Matt, Andy, Eric, Sara, Ben, Gina, Katrina, Jessica, Kate, Tara, Kelly, Shawna, Joelle, and Jenna. Don will also be remembered by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.

Don was preceded in death by his sons; Dennis Jacobson, Roger Jacobson, and Paul (the late Lori) Jacobson, and by his siblings; Adolph (the late Aurel) Jacobson, Norman (the late Jeanne) Jacobson, and Audrey (the late Wesley) Knapton.

Don proudly served in the U.S. Navy Reserve during World War II. He devoted more than 40 years of service to Allis-Chalmers before his retirement. He enjoyed traveling and especially cherished time spent at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin, where many fond memories were made with family.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 21, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 6060 W. Loomis Rd., Greendale, from 9:30–10:45 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church or No Veteran Left Behind, USA, Inc. are appreciated.

Private entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee at a later date.
