Donald Avery Jamison, 77, of Nebo, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at his residence.
He was born in Marion on February 1, 1948 to the late Fate Jamison and Annie Maney Jamison. Don worked for ten years for the City of Morganton. He later worked for twenty years with the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections where he served as a captain. Don formerly was a criminal justice instructor, and he loved deer hunting in his spare time.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Sanders (Stephen); one sister, Frieda Walker (John); one brother, Howard Jamison; and his nieces and nephews, John Walker (Belyda), Brian Walker (Leni), Howard Jamison, Jr. (Alma), Mike Jamison (Teresa), Bob Jamison (Pam), and Debbie Horres (Stratton).
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. Sid Houk officiating. Burial will follow at Pinnacle Christian Church Cemetery.
