Roger “Wade” Stott, age 75, of the Montford Cove community, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home.
Born on April 21, 1950, in McDowell County, Wade was the son of the late Willie Miles Stott and Mary Inez Minish Stott.
Wade was a lifelong member of Montford Cove Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and playing softball. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his granddaughter, Payton. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Stott, and his sister, Barbara Harris.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Angela Crawford (Jonathan); two brothers, Lewis Stott (Joyce) and Bill Stott (Ellyn); a sister, Betty Harrison; and one granddaughter, Payton Crawford, and numerous extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Saturday February 14, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Montford Cove Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Jonathan Crawford officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
