Wanda Stott, age 96, of Athens, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her residence.
She was born on April 7, 1929, in Clay, Kentucky, the daughter of Carroll and Jewell (Vaughn) Brown.
Wanda married Thomas Dale Stott on June 25, 1950, at the Cantrall United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death.
Mourning her passing are her son, Mark (Michele) Stott of Cantrall; daughter, Betty (Duane) Albert of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Heather (Joe) Green, Angela Mills, and Evan Stott; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay Kincade, Aidan Kincade, Xander Mills, Katelyn Green, and Zachary Green; two great-great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Delilah Meyer; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; two brothers, William and Wayne Brown; and one sister, Jeanette Buerkett.
Wanda was a graduate of Athens High School.
She was employed as a secretary throughout her career, working for Franklin Life, Midstate Appliance, and Federal Crop Insurance.
Wanda was a faithful member of the Athens Christian Church and the Rainmakers Camping Club. She also volunteered for many years at the Athens Municipal Library.
She enjoyed quilting, camping, bowling, square dancing, reading, and playing the dulcimer. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Athens Christian Church or the Athens Municipal Library.
