Glenn W. Evans, 82, of rural Riverton passed away peacefully in his home February 2, 2026.
He was born September 16, 1943, to William and Eva (Bell) Evans.
Glenn graduated from Williamsville High School and went on to marry his high school sweetheart Judy (Miller) in 1965.
Their 60 years of marriage was filled with love and lots of jokes.
He worked for the State of Illinois Department of Mental Health for 36 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.
He was outgoing and personable and loved to strike up conversations with anyone including a fence post. Glenn was a lifetime 5th generation farmer and raised cattle and hogs.
His passions included gardening, hunting, his dogs, and mushroom hunting. He loved his family and was proud of each of them. He treasured his life with his grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for the entire family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Clarence and Opal (Poe) Miller, and brother William T. Evans.
He is survived by his wife Judy (Miller), 2 children Kerianne Evans (Kyle) Johnson and Warren (Lynn) Evans, 7 grandchildren Kassy Johnson, Kat Johnson, Karson Johnson, Thomas Evans, Alyssa Evans, Megan Smith, Christian Smith (Erin Truax), and several nieces and nephews as well as many in-laws.
Cremation rites will be accorded. No services will be held per Glenn’s request. Burial will be held at a later date at Wolf Creek Cemetery near Riverton.
