Donald Joiner Obituary

Mr. Joiner, 83, of Boyce, passed away at home peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
He was born on March 8, 1940 in Jay, Florida, to Arthur Abraham Joiner and Clinie Spence. He proudly served in the United States Army and later with the Army Reserves. He graduated from Louisiana State University and Louisiana Tech. He was a devoted teacher and coach for twenty-six years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dewey and Doyle; and one sister Barbara Jean.
Left to celebrate his memory are his loving wife, Merilyn Gale Roberts Joiner, with whom he shared fifty-nine blessed years of marriage; one daughter, Happi (Roy) Dowling; two sons, Donald Ray Joiner, Jr. (Frank Rocco) and Ashley Abram (Lindsay); his beloved five grandchildren, Clinton, Krista, Elizabeth, Avery, and Liam; three great grandchildren, Rhett, Oliver, and Austin who he cherished and adored; one brother, Arthur Leroy (Elaine) Joiner; one sister Patricia (Bobby) Manley; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Baptist Church of Boyce, LA.
