Donald Leen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomason Funeral Home & Crematory - Weiser on Mar. 13, 2025.
Don passed away on March 8, 2025, at his home in Weiser, Idaho after suffering from the effects of Alzheimer's for the past 13 years.
Don was born on September 4, 1936, in Midway City, California to Alfred and Pearl Leen. At a young age the family moved to Humboldt County where his two younger brothers Phillip and Greg were born. He attended grammar school and high school there graduating from Arcata High in 1954. Don held various jobs as a youth and young man. Working in lumbermills and other jobs in the ag industry. While in Humboldt County he and his best friend Dale Foster enjoyed terrorizing the North Coast, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities the area offered.
In February 1956, while visiting his cousin John Sterling, Don met a girl in Chico, California that he couldn't be without, named Diane Pederson and in May 1956 the two were married. Who would have thought that after a 90-day courtship that that marriage would last but it has stood the test of time for 68 years.
Don was raised in a Godly home and knowing right from wrong and brought Diane to gospel meetings where later they both professed to serve God.
Don was selling Men's suits in Sacramento, California for Sears and Roebuck when he heard and took the job of selling John Deere Construction Equipment in Oroville, California. Don was very successful in selling equipment often being the number one salesman. He earned a lot of awards and won a lot of sales contests.
It was in Oroville where they raised their 4 children and most of the memories come from. They purchased a home in the country where they had horses, cattle, pigs, and chickens and raised a lot of their own food from the garden. They had a home that was a gathering place for relatives, friends, workers, or whoever made no difference, all were welcome. If it was only for the day or overnight. Diane could put a quick meal together and good times were had by all. It was here that they had Sunday morning fellowship meeting for years.
After the children moved away from home, the equipment dealer changed hands and went bankrupt. After a brief experience in Real Estate Development, Don moved to Redding where he went back to selling construction equipment. Six years later, they moved back to Oroville where he retired.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Al and Pearl Leen, Son Bradley Leen, Grandson Jeritt Leen, Brother Phillip Leen, and nephew Jorma Leen.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Diane Leen of Weiser, Idaho, sons Hayden (Sharon) Leen of Cambridge, Idaho, Irv (Aleta) Leen of Midvale, Idaho and daughter Molly Faulkner of Chico, California and daughter in law, Dawn Leen-Reyes (Reiko) of Thrall, Texas.
Grandkids, Lacey Lokken (Keith) of Round Rock, Texas. Tessa Howell (Eric) of Thrall, Texas. Logan Leen (Michelle) of Thrall, Texas. Brennen Leen (Megan) of Nampa, Idaho.
