He leaves his beloved wife of 16 years, Bonny L. (Nelson) Lusignan; his devoted children, Denise Walsh and her husband Jack, of Worcester, David Lusignan and his partner Charles Miller, of Ogunquit, ME, and Marc Lusignan, of Dorchester; his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Kelley and his wife Rebecca, of Fitchburg, and Alyssa Eaton and her husband Matthew, of Worcester; six adoring great-grandchildren, Joseph, Trent, Declan, Ally, Callum, and Peyton; his stepsons, Shawn Tankersley, Kevin Tankersley and his wife Paula, of Brimfield, and Brian Tankersley and his wife Michelle, of Worcester; his step-grandchildren, Shawna, Kyle, Ava, Trey, and Kyler; and great-grandchildren, Elaina and Jameson; his siblings, Roger Lusignan and his wife Joan, of East Brookfield, Joyce Cardin (wife of the late Norman), of Sutton, and Linda Sullivan and her husband Dan, of Auburn; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Lusignan, of Leicester; his Godchild, Tracy Kot; along with many beloved extended family members, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donny was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Lusignan, Richard "Dicky" Lusignan, and Russell Lusignan.
Donny was born in Worcester, son of the late Armand and Jessie (Smith) Lusignan. He was raised and educated in Worcester, and graduated with the Class of 1954 from Commerce High School. Donny was in the U.S. Navy National Guard Reserves. He worked for his father, his uncles, and with his brother, Russell at Lusignan Bros., Inc. Sheet Metal, where he learned the sheet metal trade. Donny worked his way up in the business, and, after his father passed, became President. He was President up until the closure of the company, after 60 years of operation.
Donny was always happy and the life of the party, and he loved to kid around. He enjoyed playing baseball, racquetball, golf, hunting, fishing, boating, dancing, boogie boarding, going to the beach, crooning Frank Sinatra songs at karaoke, and playing scratch tickets. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his love and kindness, his compassion to everyone he knew and met and for his beautiful smile. He welcomed everyone into his heart. He brightened every room and was known as The Mayor.
If you would like, memorial donations can be made in his name to the Auburn Elks Lodge General Fund, PO Box 306, Auburn, MA 01501-0306.
