Donald R. Marshall, 78 of Prestonsburg, KY passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 at his residence.

Don was the son of the late Grover Cleveland (Dock) and Dorothy Marie Allen Marshall. He was born in Alphoretta, KY. on November 21, 1946.

Don attended Alice Lloyd College and graduated from Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in 1971. He was a mortician/funeral director for 50 years working at both Hall Brothers/Hall Funeral Home in Martin, KY and Carter Funeral Home in Prestonsburg, KY. He was also an insurance agent and office manager for Kentucky Central Insurance for 5 years.

Don loved his family and spent many hours researching the family genealogy. He loved watching and photographing nature around his home. He enjoyed traveling and toured Europe and Brazil of which he had very fond memories of his travels.

Surviving is 1 daughter: Gina Michelle Marshall Scott of Science Hill, KY; 2 brothers: Glenn Marshall of Rochester Hill, Michigan and Grover Marshall of Overland Park, Kansas; 2 sisters: Barbara Appel of Fraser, Michigan and Judy Rigney of Clinton Township, Michigan; 1 grandson: Ian Joseph Scott of Frankfort, KY; His beloved companion dog, Riley and Bert the cat along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Don was preceded in death by 1 brother: Larry David Marshall; 1 sister Diana Marie Marshall.

There will be a graveside service at Allen Family Cemetery in Prestonsburg, KY on Saturday, Sep 27, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Arrangements by Letcher Funeral Home, Inc.
