Mr. Donald Ray Maxwell, aged 84, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his home in Mena, Arkansas. He was born July 07, 1941, to parents, Earnest Maxwell and Opal (Young) Maxwell, in Wellington, Texas.
Mr. Donald Maxwell was a farmer by profession and retired from US Motors; he enjoyed golf and ranching. But he was never happier than when he was baling hay. Donald was a founding member of the Ink Fire Department and was the former president of the Polk County Riding Club. He was a devoted member of the Concord Baptist Church. Donald was also a member of the United States Army Texas National Guard.
Mr. Donald Ray Maxwell is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Maxwell and Opal (Young) Maxwell; his beloved wife, Lillie Marilyn (Holmes) Maxwell; his brothers, Earnest Jr. Maxwell, Vernon Wayne Maxwell, Johnny Melvin Maxwell, Jerry Lynn Maxwell, and Harold Glenn Maxwell; as well as by his daughter-in-law, Dede Maxwell.
Donald is survived by his son, David Ray Maxwell and wife Wendy Jane (Simpson) Maxwell, and Scott Holmes Maxwell; grandchildren, Dillon Ray Maxwell and wife Cassi, Rylee Dean Maxwell, Cooper Scott Maxwell, and Molly Lynne Maxwell; his brother, Earnest Lee Maxwell, and wife Rita of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Shirley Maxwell; nieces, Sabrina Foreman and husband Matt of Pittsburgh, Texas, Teresa Lynn Propst and husband, Adam, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Stephanie Walker of Navasota, Texas; nephew, Allen Lee of Woodinville, Washington; as well as by a host of other family and friends too numerous to mention.
Graveside services for Mr. Donald Ray Maxwell will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Concord Cemetery in Ink, Arkansas. David R. Maxwell will be officiating under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Dillon Maxwell, Rylee Maxwell, Cooper Maxwell, Darren Simpson, Dustin Simpson, and Devin Simpson. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Ogelsby, Chris Ogelsby, Rusty Ogelsby, Danny Hansborough, Chirs Dilbeck, Gary Simpson, and Corey Simpson.
