Donald Gene McCormick, age 84 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Hickory Creek. He was born on December 29, 1940 to Robert and Bernice (Triplett) McCormick in Crawfordsville. Don married Ilene Sutton on April 7, 1963, spending 42 years together until her passing in 2005. He married Judith "Judy" Morgan on August 16, 2014, she survives.
Don was a graduate of Linden High School; Class of 1958 and he attended Purdue University. He was a binder and machine operator at RR Donnelley, retiring in 2002 after 40 years. Don was a 50-year member of the New Richmond Masonic Lodge. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching Purdue football and basketball, the Cubs, the Colts and Nascar. Don had a passion for woodworking and gardening at home, and in his spare time, he would play a round of golf and enjoyed attending his grandkids sporting events.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children, Mark McCormick, Melissa (Jim) Stephens, Derrick (Tammy) Morgan, Terri (Gary) Rice, and a son-in-law, Duane Pendleton; 9 grandchildren, Delaney, Mitchell (Desiree), Garrett (Mary), Matthew (Arielle), Brittney (Clay), Elizabeth, Alisha, Steven (Dana), Madison (Drew), Nicole (John) and Amber (Shane); many great grandchildren; and 3 brothers, Bill McCormick, Larry (JoAnna) McCormick and Mike (Sheila) McCormick.
He was predeceased by his parents; first wife, Ilene McCormick; a daughter, Kelly Pendleton; and a sister-in-law, Brenda McCormick.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 10:00am until the time of the Masonic Service at 12:00pm followed by the Funeral Service. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be given to Riley Children's Hospital. Share memories and condolences online at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
