Donald McDaniel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNutt Funeral Home - Conroe on Sep. 17, 2025.
Donald Ray McDaniel, known affectionately as Don to his friends and family, passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on August 17, 1942, in Liberty, Texas, Don's early years were marked by a spirited intelligence, a value that he carried with him throughout his life. He passed away in Willis, Texas, after a valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.

Don was a proud graduate of Hardin High School, where he distinguished himself by graduating third in his class. His pursuit of education continued for two years at the college level, which would serve him well in his professional life. Following his studies, Don dedicated himself to serving his country as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force, a period of his life that was defined by both discipline and honor.

After his military service, Don embarked on a long and respected career as an insurance adjuster. For four decades, he was the owner of Coastal Adjustment Service, where he helped many of his family members advance in their careers. After he retired from adjusting, he founded Eastex Inspections, where he served as an insurance inspector for an additional ten years.

Beyond his professional life, Don was a Master Mason in Willis, TX and his interests were that he was an avid fisherman, he loved golf and hunting and he truly enjoyed cruising.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Lois McDaniel, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. He was a loving father to his son, Mike (Brandi) McDaniel, and daughters, Kathy (David) Ritchie and Suzy McDaniel. His sister, Jean Moser, will fondly remember her brother. Don's legacy continues through his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

As we say goodbye to Donald Ray McDaniel, he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
